Science helps us to develop a better understanding of the world and the reality we live in, which is why it is fascinating, engaging and fun; in the past it has occasionally been taught without the necessary narrative connections and in a way that is not experiential, so much so that it has been unfairly classified as incomprehensible or exclusively theoretical. The lecture series “5 robots - 5 scientists" tells the stories of 5 brilliant minds and uses the Lego Mindstorm robot kits to apply the legacy left to us by scientists and mathematicians of our past directly in the field.
Block programming, with which robots are “educated", is the brainchild of mathematicians throughout history, culminating in a rule or standard that helps us not only to understand the world, but also to enjoy our robotic afternoons.
A personal laptop is required.
