From 10 June, CUBO hosts the personal exhibition Nature loves (not) to hide, by Silvia Margaria, overall winner of the 2019 Arteam Cup Award.
The exhibition arose from the personal experience of the artist who, driven by the desire to understand the mystery of life in its flow, travelled the Via del Sale in the Maritime Alps alone, searching for the imperceptible part of nature in order to investigate its process of appearance. Silvia Margaria sees nature as change, as the vehicle for discussing the modification of time in her attempt to maintain, to resist oblivion, to be while also passing.
“The journey is an integral part of the project and a step is a basic movement in the search for harmony with her surroundings, activating a creative process that seizes information and sensations through actions that dismiss the accelerated pace of everyday life. The need for estrangement allows the artist to concentrate without distractions so that her isolation can shape her thoughts, just like the wolf, an animal that has repopulated the Alps and whose dual nature has inspired Silvia Margaria: although a gregarious creature by nature, the wolf finds the strength to occupy new territory and form a new pack through isolation. This phase, which is biologically called Dispersion, becomes a metaphor and provides the title for the installation which Silvia Margaria has created by recreating, with elements gathered on her journey, what her experience has rooted in her perception."
