CUBO inaugurates the solo exhibition of the artist Maurizio Bottarelli, one of the most established and well-known artists in Italy, who has already held the chair of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Milan and previously in Bologna. Initially close to the artistic climate created by Francesco Arcangeli, Maurizio Bottarelli has always conducted constant and personal research through cultural sedimentations and layers of pictorial matter.
The aim of the exhibition project is to investigate the artist's landscape between collapses and reconstruction, as highlighted in the critical text in the exhibition catalogue by Fabrizio D'Amico: "Lakes in strange, restless turmoil; storms of water, of frost, of wind: whirlpools of light and shadow; these are the landscapes that Maurizio Bottarelli presents today, returning to a way that is his, long preferred, after a stop that saw him rethink another ancient theme of his painting, that of Heads. Landscapes again, which between collapses and re-emergences together become trepid mirrors of reality and fearful veils of the soul. Landscapes once again hovering between sight and vision."
The unprecedented series of landscapes created for Spazio Arte of CUBO can be viewed until 26 August, accompanied by works from the Unipol Group Heritage.A rare pair depicting two palm trees, a subject created in the 90s during his travels that brought him to teach in California, and a pair of works from his trips from Tasmania in Australia.
