On the occasion of the exhibition IN BETWEEN - Dialoghi di luce.Paolo Scheggi, Joanie Lemercier, fuse*, at the first edition of das - dialoghi artistici sperimentali [experimental artistic dialogues], CUBO has supported the production of Joanie Lemercier's work "Plans", 2018.
PLANS is a site-specific installation consisting of several planes of transparent light screens positioned as minimal sculptures.
The quantity, size and position of the transparent screens may vary depending on the space, the number of projectors, the possible point of view.
Joanie projects patterns in motion on these enigmatic canvases, developing a vocabulary consisting of geometric lines and shapes combined and organised to play with our perception of space, creating a new three-dimensional architecture made up of flat planes. He explores compositions of fluctuating elements, questioning gravity and weightlessness.
Movement marks the dimension of time and explores the infinite number of possible combinations.
An immersive and contemplative experience that describes space through dynamic projections of light, layered surfaces, reflective or semi-transparent materials.
